Best Basketball Sneakers to Rock This NBA Season

Best Basketball Sneakers to Rock This NBA Season

This year, we’re not just excited about the NBA season because of the games. Right now, we’re interested in what the players flexing on their feet on opening games! Starting October 22nd, four NBA players will be wearing their signature Nike basketball sneakers. The most interesting part is that these basketball sneakers have very unique and over the top designs!

Nike Kyrie 5 “Pineapple House”

The ex-Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving is no stranger to Nike collabs. In fact, his first signature shoe, Kyrie 1 “Dream”, released back in 2014. Time flies right? Five years later, and following August’s SpongeBob x Kyrie collection, Nike is adding the Kyrie 5 “Pineapple house” version.

The upper part of the basketball sneakers features SpongeBob’s infamous pineapple house. The lace cover is a nod to the leafy upper of the pineapple and the swoosh logo design resembles the window SpongeBob always peaks out from.

Nike KD 12 “Youtube”

Kevin Durant is not just a Brooklyn Nets player. He’s also an active YouTuber! He actually uploaded a video of him unboxing his latest collaboration with Nike, the Nike KD 12 “Youtube”. As their name implies, these basketball sneakers are inspired by Youtube and even bear the logo on one tongue, and Kevin’s name on the other. The coolest thing about these sneakers are the heel tabs which hold the very well-known  “Skip Ad.” button on them. Oh and there’s a search bar on the insoles too! Naturally, the dominant color here is Red.

Nike PG3 “Nasa”

These basketball sneakers are actually the fourth installment of PG3 x Nasa. The LA Clippers star will be rocking these sneakers this season. And let’s face it, they look pretty cool! Last January’s release is actually the exact inverse of the ones releasing in a few days with the orange, blue and space-inspired silver. The most noticeable feature about these sneakers is the Paul Brandt quote: “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon” found on the heel. The shoes might not have a very high resale value, but they really are candy to the eye and worth having if you’re a sneakerhead and into basketball.
