If you like today’s throwback, make sure you check our previous TBTs!
Colette: The Parisian Store
If you’re not familiar with the store, Colette is a Parisian concept store. Forbes described it as “the trendiest store in the world”. Colette is actually a mother-daughter partnership that took the fashion world by storm. Even Karl Lagerfeld, the multi-facet fashion designer, and creative director used to frequent Colette! According to him, the store had things no one else has. And that’s true, Colette is famous for its interesting collaborations!
Colette Jordan 1: The Store’s Way to Say Goodbye!
After 20 years of legacy and amazing products, the 1997 store announced its closure in 2017. However, it wasn’t going without a bang! And that’s when Colette and Jordan Brand joined forces to create the Colette Jordan 1 “Au Revoir”. The exclusive Jordan featured an all blue and white leather upper. The kicks had Colette’s signature two dots on the back of the heels along with the opening and closing years on the sides.
Finally, the translucent outsoles had “Bonjour” and “Au Revoir” written underneath them! Obviously, the pair is full of memories.
How Much Is A Colette Jordan 1 Worth?
The kicks were obviously friends and family exclusive, and you know what that means. Resale values usually skyrocket when a pair is this limited. The kicks currently resell for an average of $6,761! And one of these pairs made it to the hands of Kylie Jenner!
In 2019 though, sneakerheads had the opportunity to own the rare kicks for only $20. That’s because StockX partnered with Oceana to raise money and protect the oceans! With this giveaway, the winners got to own the 30 last pairs of the Colette Jordan 1 collaboration.
A Colette Jordan 1 Alternative?
You love the Colette Jordan 1 aesthetic, but can’t afford such resale values? Jordan Brand has just the sneakers for you. You can find the same white and blue leather colorway on the Air Jordan Storm Blue. At $494, it’s not exactly your average retail price, but it’s much better than a couple of thousand dollars!
