Nike sets a new Foamposite Volt lightning strike
Late in 2020, the Kobe Grinch stole our minds during the Christmas season with its bold statement. Later this month, Nike is hitting us harder with an OG Nike Foamposite Volt hue.
Nike Foamposite’s Original Run
These futuristic-looking kicks date back to the 90s! Can you imagine the shock people were in when this sneaker made his first reveal?! At that time, both converse and Nike were killing the basketball shoe industry with suede, nubuck, leather, and rubber. However, Nike never settled and was always looking for ways to conquer the industry on her own.
Hence, after 4 years of trials and research, Nike designers finally debuted the 1997 Foamposite technology. Nike bought this new technology into basketball courts Air Foamposite One and the Air Foamposite Pro.
These kicks altered all sneakers rules. The Foamposite was a sneaker breakthrough due to its new construction technology, unfamiliar aesthetic, and bling-bling price tag. Both Foamposites models feature a shell upper and gum outsole. However, the Air Foamposite Pro exhibits a jeweled swoosh on its upper whereas the one has a 1CENT logo. One of the most known 1997 Foamposite Pro is the Nike Foamposite Pro “Voltage”.
New Foamposite Volt Vision
Through its many releases and retros of the Foamposite, Nike enjoyed experimenting with different hype colorways and patterns. They even went out of the world with a galaxy colorway. However, the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Volt” of 2014 is arguably the most astonishing. It features a bold silhouette and color. The all-over Volt is complemented with black detailing.
NIKE AIR FOAMPOSITE PRO “VOLT” On The Way
This 2021 Foamposite Volt feels like a walking Bold splash. These kicks are a 2014 retro of the all-over Volt sneakers. They sport the volt colorway on the shell upper, translucent rubber outsole, swoosh, laces, and eyestays. The black detailing on the arch of the shoe and the tongue tab.
Release Date: Jan 27th, 2021 (Wednesday)
Retail Price: $230
Resale: $700
Delay Update 1/28/2021: the Foamposite Volt release date was postponed till Feb 12, 2021.
The OG 2014 kicks did not bring in the big cash. However, we expect way more from the 2021 version. Because back in 2014, this bulky silhouette and flashy colorway were not hype. Thus, the 2014 volt came out of the left-field! Whereas since 2014, the sneaker culture changed, making bulky and colorful sneakers among the most trendy in 2021. Hence, the Foamposite Volt holds a big potential this year. The Nike Foamposite Volt will be available at Nike.com and select retailers. So, stay tuned and informed on Twitter and Discord for the latest release info to not miss out on this drop.
