Jordan 5 Alternate Grape: A Fresh Take on A Fresh Colorway!
Ever seen a pair of shoes and just knew whose vibe that would be? Well, the pair we’re discussing today is exactly that! The upcoming Air Jordan 5 Alternate Grape is a sneaker worthy of a certain fresh prince. The 90s kids, and anyone who binge-watches Netflix, will definitely relate to that!
The OG Air Jordan 5 Grape
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was definitely a trendsetter and a streetwear icon. Will Smith definitely rocked some top-notch pairs in this legendary series. However, one pair stands out and takes the cake: the Air Jordan 5 OG Grape. This pair is one of the few OGs to stray from the Bulls “Bred” color them and rock a white leather upper with a vibrant purple and aqua midsole! The other two OG colorways were the Metallic Black and Fire Red 5s.
This colorway is arguably one of the memorable pairs of Jordans in the sneaker industry. This colorway got a retro back in 2013 and it resells for as high as $650! However, Jordan Brand tributed the prince and dropped a laceless pair of Grapes on Smith’s 50th birthday in 2018. Just the way Will likes them! JB also had a surprise for us in 2020. They dropped the Air Jordan 5 Top 3, and one of the top 3 colorways is… the Grape 5s. Go figure!
Air Jordan 5 Alternate Grape
Just as the name suggests, Jordan 5 Alternate Grape is a play on the OG colorway! Instead of the white leather upper, we’re getting a full-blown purple suede upper. But wait for it, it gets even flashier from here! A Jumpman, lace lock, and shark teeth in aqua complement the black midsole and tongue. And finally, the outsole is the usual translucent ice. So the result is truly candy to the eyes.
You can catch this lit pair on the Nike website. And for such a resale value, you definitely should try to catch them. The Jordan 5 Alternate Grape is a pair of kicks that would make anyone stand out without looking too extra. (Who are we kidding? You’ll look extra and love it!) So stay posted for any new release news!
