How the Kobe Grinch Stole Christmas… and Our Hearts!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for everyone… minus one. The Grinch. But ironically, he became one of Christmas’ symbols! And this year, the Kobe Grinch is coming to give us the best Christmas gift: The Drip. And speaking of which, did you check out this year’s Nike Nordic pack?
The Grinch: A Biography
Okay so, who doesn’t know the grinch? He’s a weird-looking, green pear-shaped creature (no judgment though). He lives on the cliff next to Whoville. He has a deep dislike for Christmas and anyone celebrating the holiday. So he decides to do the best thing in his opinion: steal the holiday. But when he fails to do so, he discovers the meaning of Christmas and the joy behind it. So really, just your holiday story by Dr. Seuss.
The OG Kobe Grinch
The Grinch became a big icon in pop culture. The kids aren’t the only ones who enjoyed it, adults love it too! So it wasn’t extremely surprising when sneaker companies took the grinch theme and adopted it in their releases. One of the most popular adaptations is Kobe Grinch 6 that stays true to the Grinch’s colors. Kobe himself wore the pair on games, and it really looked good! The kicks feature a whole green upper that goes in different shades. The swoosh comes in black and finally, the mamba logo is in red!

20 Years Later…
With everything that happened in 2020, it’s easy to say that it was a bad year. With the Black Mamba’s passing, it was easy to assume that maybe his shoe line could be discontinued. However, Nike knew the legacy and chose to carry on with it. It also serves the brand well considering the sales of the shoe line increased. Anyway, this Christmas, the Kobe Grinch is coming back in Protro form! So to the ones who weren’t around 10 years ago, or the ones who didn’t get a pair: Christmas is about second chances! So here’s yours to own the upcoming Kobe Grinch and have a very happy Christmas.
