Third Time’s a Charm with the Nike x Ambush Dunk High June Drop
When we hear AMBUSH, we know the drool is coming. This brand is just way too exciting. So, imagine what could happen to our sneakerheads when that name is paired up with our one and only Nike. Ambush’s Yoon delivered a very daring version of the silhouette last time around with the Fuscia Dunks. So, what’s up with this next Ambush Dunk High?
Nike x Ambush Dunk High: A Little Stroll Through History
Ambush is all about gender-neutral fashion. This is their main concept. And we’re crazy about this label’s cool principles just as much as we are fans of their bold and stylish designs. The brand’s Jan Pink Dunks were rather feminine kicks, though. That’s true, fam. Yoon sought inspiration from strong female characters from the 90s in order bring Nike’s apparel line to life. The idea here was to take a fresh and feminine approach to styling.
AMBUSH’S partnership with the Swoosh was perhaps the most hotly anticipated collab for the brand’s existence. Nike is just everything for us. But this collaboration got us thinking: who’s the lucky one here?
All About the Looks
Coming up is a pink-less shoe this time though. This Ambush Dunk High is the real deal, dropping in with all the Royalty there is. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
The Japanese label is getting ready to add a third colorway to the mix. Nike and AMBUSH will revert to a colorway that is an Air Jordan 1 standard, this time: The Royal Blue. A color that has rocked every AJ1 since 80’s.
This Ambush Dunk High shoe will bring together a mix of white leather toeboxes, quarter panels and collars with “Royal Blue” mudguards, eyestays, heels, and collar trims. They day the details are everything. And that’s no lie, fam. These high-cut uppers have a very interesting assembly towards the back of the shoe. The top of the collar and the half bottom of the heel extend outwards past the white middle part.
And that ain’t the only thing extending from this shoe. The key detail about this pair, is definitely the Swooshes. Not only are they exaggerated by extending beyond the shoe, but they’re also completely rubberized and done up in black. To bring the design together, black also dresses on the collar trim and the fancy waxed laces.
The shoe’s tongues are constructed with exposed foam and are dressed in clean white. And the Swoosh branding badge?
What’s the story behind them tongues?
Well, it all started off with Yoon’s tweet. Ahead of this Ambush Dunk High release, Yoon took to Twitter and already warned us fans that fake pairs are everywhere. “Real” comes with a blue label,”. So, peeps, watch out for them white labels. Remember, White tongues + Blue labels. But the knock-off industry ain’t easy, they’ll be fixing this pretty soon, we tell you.
Down below, the blue heel clip is stamped with an embossed AMBUSH text. Sail midsoles and blue outsoles finish off the final look of this awesome collab.
Cop or Drop?
But the Swoosh isn’t the only thing that’s gonna be flying about this shoe. This Ambush Dunk High is already firing up on the aftermarket for $442. The pair hasn’t released yet and it’s doing more than great. But great on who? Are you up for paying this amount for one pair? If you still don’t have your own copy of the best bot ever, this shoe should get you to it. You must also pair it with the best servers and proxies to make sure you nail this hot collab. So, start practicing, and fingers crossed, ya’ll.
