Nike Dunk Veneer: Skunk and Toxic Avenger Impressions?

Nike Dunk Veneer: Skunk and Toxic Avenger Impressions?

Although Halloween already passed, it’s never too late to celebrate with a colorful pair of sneakers. Luckily, the new Nike Dunk Veneer is up for that job and more. Besides the good looks, we’ve got an interesting story! We can’t wait to cop and rock the pair of sneakers, and here are all the reasons why!

Nike Dunk Veneer: Another Ugly Duckling

Back in 2001, Nike dropped a pack that was exclusive to Japan, much to our disappointment. That pain stayed with us for almost 19 years, until the Oregon giant decided to bless us with public drops! We got the Ceramic Dunks and the Plums first. And now, we’ll finally complete the trio with the upcoming Nike Dunk Veneer!

The kicks feature an interesting combination of green, purple, brown, and white! The upper rocks brown and green suede, with purple swoosh logos, heel, and laces. The midsole is a simple white, with a contrasting purple outsole.

Some Other Interesting Bits

Although we know the history of the kicks, we can’t help comparing them to some other colorways. Nike isn’t a stranger to really odd colorways, and here are two other similar colorways.

Nike Dunk Toxic Avenger

Also known as Toxic Sea Robin, the Dunks were an un-listed August drop back in 2009. The kicks featured a light and dark purplish-brown leather upper with orange swooshes and a neon green outsole! The kicks are worth around $365 today. And seeing how popular Dunks are, they’ll probably be more valuable soon!

Nike Dunk High Skunk 420

A year later, Nike Dunk High Skunk dropped in celebration of April 20. Although we came close in 2020 to the release of the Reverse Skunk, only 420 lucky peeps really got it. So the OG 2010 Skunks still hold a special place in our hearts. The kicks featured a fuzzy suede green upper with a purple swoosh. So it really looks like Nike Dunk Veneer, but high cut. Today, you’ll have to pay about $1,915 to own a pair!
