Paul George PlayStation Shoes: The Coolest PS5-inspired Nike PG 5, Yet

The gaming worlds seem to collide once again. This time around, with the newest Nike collaboration with one of the NBA’s biggest PlayStation fans. If there’s anything you must know about Paul George, fam, is that he’s got game. And not just on the court. Other than being a kick-ass basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul is as lit in the virtual world as an avid gamer and owner of esports franchise Endemic. And after many dope PS shoes from the past, and the 2018 Paul George playstation shoes, we’re now waiting for yet another drop.

Paul George PlayStation Shoes is Fellow Gamers’ Favorite Release of the Year

Nike and PlayStation designers, including PS5’s artist Yujin Morisawa, all worked together to bring both the spirit of Paul’s game and the vibe of the PS5 to life combined in a shoe. This unique collaboration is releasing this month, and there couldn’t be a better timing with the PS5s ongoing hype. Now, in 2021, PlayStation and Nike Basketball are joining again to put out George’s passion in gaming and for the game, both, in a PG 5 PlayStation 5 – inspired shoe. We heard about Paul’s collaboration with Nike happening again back in March. And even better than this news, was finding out that the two won’t be offering just one, but two PG5 homages to the PS5. And very, very soon later this month, we will witness the release of the first set.

Here’s a peek at what you can expect to see in the design this time:

The colors of the shoe will be heavily inspired by the industrial design of the PS5, with extra references on the sock liner and outsoles. Sticking with the console’s main color combination, the shoe will feature blue, white, and black. The white upper of the sneaker represents the shell of the console, while black accents portray the inner workings. As for the blue, it obviously reminds us of the PS5’s vibrant lights. Like all previous Paul George PlayStation Shoes, the tongues of this one will have the PG and PlayStation logos on them in a split tongue branding.

The PlayStation 5 in the Form of  a Shoe?

If you take a closer look, you will notice reinforced forefoot and heel overlays covered with tonal-all-over print. This pattern incorporates the PlayStation’s four face buttons: X, O, Triangle, and Square. Would it really be a true PS collab if it wasn’t for these iconic controller shapes? If the tiny Xes, Os, and Square and Triangle icons weren’t enough to sell this as an obvious PS-themed colorway, no worries. The branding at the heels, side midfoots, and tongues should deliver the message pretty well. Add to that a PlayStation and PS5 embellishment that hit the insoles, along with a very special co-branded PG/PS hangtag. From a performance point of view, the pair seems to be super comfortable just by the looks of it. The shoe uses a full-foot Air Strobel cushioning setup that ensures soft and responsive court feels.
