TBT: Jordan 1 Clay Green, One of the First Green Jordan 1s Ever
Another Thursday, another throwback. And this week, again, another Green TBT. Following the sick release of April 2018’s Shadow, May came up with some exciting surprises for the Spring season. And part of an awesome collection was an awesome pair: The Jordan 1 Clay Green.
Jordan 1 Clay Green: Honoring the King Himself
MJ is no ordinary legend. And with all the lovely AJ1s out there, there got to be more than one pair honoring this man’s legacy. That’s why we love the Green Jordan 1 Clay Green. This Jordan honors Michael’s biggest career achievements. The pair released back in 2018 as part of the Air Jordan 1 Best Hand in the Game Collection, which introduced four new takes on the original silhouette. The coolest part is that each colorway of these kick-ass pairs represented unique milestones in MJ’s career.
A Lookback at The Looks
This shoe combined soft suedes and lovely leather. The Air Jordan 1 Clay Green was one of the few Air Jordan 1s that released with a “Black Toe” theme during the Spring of 2018. This obviously means, its color scheme included Black, Summit White, and Green. A dark Green hue replaced the Red color on the “Black Toe”, hitting the suede heels, collars, and Swooshes.
Awesome detailing covers the insoles. A full-house playing card graphic is printed on the insole of this shoe, nodding to some of Michael Jordan’s personal career accomplishments: Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Championships, and last but definitely not least his Hall of Fame induction. Pretty cool, huh? That’s why this Green Jordan was also dubbed “All Those Awards”.
OG designation means the shoe features original Nike Air branding on the nylon tongues. Finally, a White midsole and a Clay Green rubber outsole completed the design of these Green Jordans.
Throwback to the Release Deets
This OG Jordan 1 Clay Green released on May 1, back in 2018. It retailed for $160 USD when it dropped, just like the rest of the collection. But can you grab one today? You can if you head to the resale market and give in most of the cash you save for your summer. You sure didn’t expect to still be able to hit this pair 3 years later for the same affordable price. This pair, ladies and gents, is reselling for a good $560 USD today. Yes, even better than the Shadow. This Clay Green colorway was one of the first green Jordan 1 colorways ever. So, the rendition was already extremely hard to find. It’s also an OG, plus all the cool-ass detailing. So, what did you expect? You could probably base your reselling business on OGs, fam. No need for more.
