TBT: The Jordan 1 Pine Green: A Hot Colorway from a Hot Year
The Jordan 1 is simply the Jumpman’s most iconic silhouette. You don’t need any reminder about that. It always has been, always will be. But beyond our favorite model, we love it when new AJ1 colorways highlight what makes the sneaker so legendary. And that’s why we’re throwing it back to this Jordan 1 Pine Green.
An Epic Year for Jordans, Including The Jordan 1 Pine Green
Some years are just hard to forget when it comes to sneaker releases. And if you’re a true sneaker guru, you sure still remember how much of success 2018 was. We can’t even begin to count the sick releases we witnessed that year. 2018 was in fact one of the most profitable years for Air Jordan 1. Can you believe it? Well, that’s basically why we chose this special shoe for you for this week’s TBT.
“Black Toe” with a Dash of Green
This pair took some of the Jordan’s classic features and combined them with a minimal and modern touch. How? This pair simply showcased a modified version on the classic “Black Toe” design form 1985. And that’s what makes this shoe so special. With a simple color blocking, this Green Jordan is dressed in a tumbled leather construction. The leather high-top employs a black and white color combination with a hint of green here and there.
A Good TBT Inspired by Another Good TBT
We already know what’s going through your head: Shattered Backboard AJ1 vibes? Yes! You’re good, alright. The Jordan 1 Pine Green simply carries the Shattered Backboard color blocking and replaces the orange with green. Nice and clean. With that said, you can find the green hue on the toebox, heel, ankle areas and outsole. Unlike the original ‘Black Toe,’ the traditional white finish on the toe box is colored in with more Pine Green. Swooshes wrap around the collars in a pitch-black shade that also colors the laces and the Wings logo embossed on the ankles. Down below, a classic sail midsole and a “Pine Green” outsole rounded up this colorway.
Old Drop Deets
This Green Jordan was one hell of a drop, fam. A show stopping sneaker, if you were searching for the perfect pair of kicks to rock both on the street and on the court! It retailed for $150 when it released 3 years ago, and today it’s reselling for a good $451 bucks. Not bad at all!
Who Went Down the Aisle with the Pine Green?
When we remember this shoe, we recall a green and purple AJ1 combo. Why, though? Well, this Pine Green didn’t drop on its own. On September 22 of that year, this pair was joined by the “Court Purple” Air Jordan 1 on the same day. And they were both just HOT. Although we don’t have a Green Jordan coming around the corner for you, but we just hope you didn’t get an L on the most recent Court Purple Air Jordan 1. This was the closest you were gonna get. But don’t be upset. You know we will hit you up with the Greenest green kicks that will drop eventually. So meanwhile, get a copy of the best bot, and until then, keep it locked here on ANB for all your sneaker news.
